For many in the community with stressed budgets and financial challenges, a Thanksgiving dinner isn’t possible. Support of Cornerstones’ annual Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive will help make a fulfilling holiday possible for nearly 1,000 families this season.

Collection dates and times: Thursday, Nov. 20, noon - 5 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 21, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Collection site: St. John Neumann Church, 11900 Lawyers Road, Reston.
The following items will provide a hearty Thanksgiving meal for a family:
3 cans assorted veggies (please no green beans)
2 cans fruit
1 bottle olive or canola cooking oil (~ 24 oz.)
1 box instant potatoes or macaroni & cheese or stuffing
1 box rice or a 2-5 lb. bag of rice
1 box biscuit or muffin mix
1 snack (pretzels, chips, nuts, etc.)
1 box of dessert mix
2 lb. bag of flour
2 lb. bag of sugar
1 $25 gift card (Giant/Safeway/Shoppers) for the purchase of a turkey/ham entrée (We do not have the capacity to store or accept perishable items.)
Packaging instructions: Place all food items in a plastic storage bin with a lid or a cardboard box with a lid. Do not place gift card donations inside the box – have them ready to hand to a staff member or volunteer when you drop off the donation.
